Just finished watching all of 22.11.63 and the finale had a real tearjerker of a scene to it at the end. I won't lie, I cried masculine tears when it happened. Just two from each eye, nothing more embarrassing than it needs to be.
What a great series. I'm so glad there wasn't any kind of setup for a season two. Just a self-contained story that started and ended.
And this actress who plays Sadie, is ridiculous.
Her name is Sarah Gadon, and.. why am I hyperventilating right now? (fans face)
Oh, right. Because my bedroom is somewhat warm. Has absolutely nothing to do with those photos of her, no. Nope. Nothing at all.
I was impressed by her attra-- uh, acting. She reminds of both Amber Heard from Rum Diaries and Elizabeth Mitchell in Frequency. Two other actresses that just OWN the particular roles they were casted in, only to not really leave as much of a deep impression whenever they go off to do other films.
Case in point,
Two women, or three rather -- that I wouldn't kick out of my bed for eating crackers, thats for sure. Stunning beauties. The embodiment of femininity. Total fantasies brought to life on the silver screen.
Hmm. Huh. (stares at Elizabeth Mitchell) Wow.
Alright, so last night I found my favorite episode of 11.22.63. It's called "The Eyes of Texas" and interestingly enough, it was the perfect follow-up to the posts I put on my blog before I started watching.
Little coincidences like to sneak into my life, and that episode seemed to feel like it "knew" what I posted about, and that it had its own little nuggets of wisdom to provide.
An example piece of dialogue,
"When you refuse to tell someone the truth, you deny them their dignity."
and also,
"It is wrong to conceal the truth from those that we most care about."
And also, Sadie is a meaningful name to me. Which is the name of the character that Sarah Gadon plays. And also again, her husband's name is Clayton; which is the last name of my ex-girlfriend Gina. So.. Its interesting to see these kind of "nods" towards me. Even if they're complete figments of my imagination to think any of it is connected somehow.
They say that coincidences are Gods way of winking at you, and with small stuff like that, I always wonder if its true.
James Franco also impressed me in this film. But what else is new, right? That man sparkles in the right roles. Milk and 127 Hours are proof that he has some surprises left in him, as does 11.22.63 does. Really cool that he helped produce it. He even directed an episode.
So... Nothing much to report for today. Went for all you can eat fish tacos with my mom at Joeys Seafood, and we did some shopping together at Lowes for stuff she needed for the bathroom.
I picked up a gift for Gyngie's daughter Ray, for Christmas. It's this cheesy looking bear that comes with an air gun so you can shoot balls into its mouth (from over 20ft!) and this counter shows whether or not the ball goes in, and how many balls have gone in. Its a cheesy gag gift, but the young lady at the register thought it was a fantastic gift. There was this mutual vibe going between us, but she looked way younger than I think I could handle flirting with. Just made her smile a few times, and left.
Hmm. Nothing much to report really. It didn't seem like I got much done today, either. I still have to prep the house for Ginelle's visit and get groceries for the dinner I plan on making her this Saturday. Uhm... yeah. So tomorrow should be somewhat of a busy day.
Well..
Still miss my baby doll.
But slowly, I'm getting over her.
Not that I want to.
But its happening regardless.
I saw someone that looked like her at Homesense today, and even saw the exact color make and model of her car parked outside, making me do a bit of a double-take. It wasn't her obviously, as the woman I saw looked older. But her hair was the same. Same length. Color, and style.
Kind of looked like Gina as she would in about ten or fifteen years, I'd say.
(sighs)
Yep. Guess I'll mosey off to bed.
'night blog.
