Rule #8 - Don't ever take life so seriously, that you become afraid to laugh. As my relationship with Gina went on, I began to forget about how much I enjoyed making her laugh, and how little I was doing the same. I was too afraid of offending her, and on our last night out at Boston Pizza; I made a joke about getting the waitress into a threesome, which resulted in Gina looking pissed off. Then I was in the awkward position of having to somehow "ease" her into the joke, because she seemed to think I was serious. Or half-serious. Given that I wasn't cracking very many jokes in the past while, I can see why she didn't expect this to be one.
Always keep your sense of humor intact. Especially in difficult times, where you know a smile and a laugh is exactly what helps break through feelings of apathy and monotony.
She never got to wearing that Princess Leia outfit I used to kid her about.
There's a lot I regret, and not holding onto one of my best qualities, is one of them.
But sometimes, the sadness is too much to ignore.
